The following are our reasons for doing a shrine on Ayanami Rei, don't email us saying the reasons aren't good enough.
Hikari-Chan's:
Zor-Chan was telling me about Evangelion, cuz she had the manga of Eva and was recommending it. So I decided to look it up on the net. At first I thought Asuka was my favourite character, and I saw some people hated Asuka, so I went to investigate with the other characters in the series, Rei at first seemed boring to me. But, after a while I got to see Evangelion, and I loved the series! I changed my mind about Asuka and I drew towards Rei, Asuka seemed very annoying to me, but after I got used to her loud expressive attitude. Anyways, Rei's a clone of Shinji's mother, and that doesn't bother me, she seems like a real person to me. There are a lot of quiet people who are unsocialble today. She has good fighting skills, and she does show emotions, and when she does it's so kawaii! ^^ Rei II showed the most emotions, she risked her own life to save Shinji! Rei would normally follow Commander Ikari's instructions but she didn't, now if that isn't showing emotions then I dunno what is ^^; Another time is when she said 'arigatou' to Shinji (arigatou means thank you) She was suprised to hear herself saying that. Enough babbling on.. Rei is one cool character and she's very unique and I liked her so much I just had to do a shrine of her, along with Zor-Chan's help.

Zor-Chan's:
Why?? Why not! Rei, to me anyways, is the best and besides shinji, the most essential character in evangelion. Rei means something to each and every character, for example for Shinji she's the one he respects most and holds on to, to Asuka she's Wonder Girl, and a rival, always wanted to beat her. Like Hikari-Chan, at the begining I went more for Asuka, but then I saw the actual Episodes of Evangelion, and I quickly got annoyed of Asuka's constant attitude (No offence to the Asuka fans.) I didn't really think Rei had much of a part in the show (which boy was I ever wrong.) What I like most about Rei is why she pilots Unit 00. Asuka pilots it for show, and praise from others. Shinji, well, I dunno? I think it's cuz everyone told him too. Rei on the other hand, lives for piloting Unit 00. I think that's a good enough reason ne? And it shows too, her fighting skills are amazing, and if destroying the Angel means her life, so be it! She was even willing to do it alone since Shinji didn't wanna do it.
