Tales from Jabbas Palace

A Review By: Zizziana Nightstar
The mood of Tales From Jabbas Palace is immediately set
by the very first page which is blank except for a C-3PO quote: If I
told you half the things Ive heard about this Jabba the Hutt, youd
probably short-circuit!
Edited by one of the biggest Expanded Universe authors, Kevin J. Anderson.
The book contains nineteen stories featuring some of the galaxys most
infamous scum and villains. The collection is a combination between a retelling
of the events of the Rescue of Han and a murder mystery. Each story is told
from the point-of-view of a different character including Boba Fett, Mara
Jade, the rancor keeper, the band, and Bib Fortuna. The stories range from
the death of Oola, the Twilek dancer, to the plots of Bib Fortuna, the
account of how Mara Jade failed to kill Luke and the
bond between the rancor and his keeper. In the middle of all of this are the
murders of several people in the Palace which wont be explained until
nearly the very end.
Overall, I really liked this collection of stories, and I found the 3PO quote
to be a nice touch. As for the stories, some are funnier than others, some
focus on very familiar characters, but all have their own little special twist
to them, and out of nineteen stories, there is something to cater to all tastes.
On a one to four scale, Id give it 3 3/4 because it was very well done,
but not quite my absolute favorite.
