G-D, I want to see these videos.</div> <div> Australian band 30 Odd Foot Of Grunts this week release to radio Memorial</div> <div> Day, the second track to be lifted from their album Bastard Life Or Clarity.</div> <bR> <div> Released to coincide with the lead up to Anzac Day (25 Apr), Memorial Day is</div> <div> a powerful statement about the impact of war on those who lived through it</div> <div> and on the generations that followed them. Vocalist and co-songwriter of</div> <div> TOFOG Russell Crowe dedicated the song to his grandfather Stanley J Wemyss</div> <div> MBE, an acclaimed cinematographer whose work includes the important piece</div> <div> Easter Action In Bougainville. </div> <bR> <div> Crowe recently commented on the significance of Memorial Day: </div> <bR> <div> "My grandfather was a cinematographer in the Second World War. He got an MBE</div> <div> for war photography. One of the worst things about my relationship with my</div> <div> grandfather is I learnt more about what he did in his life after he was</div> <div> dead. I had some kind of inkling that there was something important because</div> <div> people would talk about it in hushed tones, but whenever I asked him about</div> <div> it he would change the subject. He was a very reticent man and not very</div> <div> open, but I find myself, every time the build up to Anzac Day comes around</div> <div> in April, thinking about him. </div> <bR> <div> "That's what Memorial Day is about. He achieved a lot of things in his life</div> <div> and it's a tribute to him, but I think it's also about Anzac Day in general</div> <div> and it's about how Australians and New Zealanders, particularly in my</div> <div> generation and the generations after, have really started to fully</div> <div> appreciate the freedom that we were granted by a group of men that went and</div> <div> gave their lives and their efforts for us." </div> <bR> <div> Crowe recently dedicated his Academy Award for Best Actor to his</div> <div> grandfather, along with his late uncle, David Crowe. It was set in an Austin caravan park, Russell was sleeping in bed under a sheet, you saw him come out of caravan and start singing, lady with bright red curly hair was standing at caravan door with a sour look on her face holding Russell's favorite flannel shirt (the one he wore on Leno) There was a spotlight on all band members throughout video, Dean was wearing his cutoff rose shirt. There were people milling about drinking ( good ad for VB ) then at the end of the song the redhead threw his shirt at him in disgust and he got into pickup and drove away.</I></div> <div> <I>Very similar format to Circus video only in colour. Music was great, lyrics were great, video was cryptic, lots of cameos of Russell's favorite things.
