TOFOG'S Tribute Page
Welcome to the site dedicated solely to the members of Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts (TOFOG). You will be enriched with things pertaining to Russell Crowe (lead singer, guitar), Dean Cochran (guitar), Garth Adam (bassist), Dave Kelly (drums), Dave Wilkins (vocalist, guitar, tambourine), and Stewart Kirwan (trumpet, vocalist).  If your interests are only in the music and the members of the band, you have come to the right place. This is purely for the enjoyment that the talents of each band member attribute when creating these songs.
What is so incredible about the music that Russell Crowe produces along with his mate Dean Cochran is that they have been doing this for the last 16 + years! And why haven't the majority of us known about this way back when? Well for a few obvious reasons. One being the success of Gladiator, The Insider, and LA Confidential. Secondly the success of TOFOG, we should all pay tribute to, is from the internet. Let's face it, without the internet, the success of the band would have risen, but not to the extent of what is has become today. Fans from all over the world could come to one place such as the newly updated Gruntland site and get a hands on experience of being able to talk with the band members such as Garth Adam, or being able to order their merchandise directly from the site. That wasn't the case way back when the internet wasn't available to the majority of the public. We could only imagine that celebrities would call or snail mail their fans on a regular basis to keep in touch about the littlest of things such as the status of an order that was placed, or what type of beer they drink (of course we all know it's Victoria Bitter and Shiner's Bock!). Now that I think of it, when would an extremely popular celebrity who was trying to promote their product actually contact the consumers directly to let them know that their orders were shipped to them? I haven't heard that! The internet plays such a significant factor in how successful a celebrity is these days, and I am extremely grateful for the Grunts being a part it.
Now for those who are curious about TOFOG and want to learn specifically about each of the band members, I hope that what you find here will answer your most in-depth questions. If you are looking for answers pertaining to the age old question of "do they sleep in the nude or with clothes on?", YOU ARE NOT GOING TO FIND IT HERE!
Russell Crowe is the lead singer that writes the lyrics to the majority of the Grunt songs, while each band member contributes in writing the melodies doing it with a finesse that no one has that I have heard in recent years, other than one other artist that I personally consider to be a living legend. Albeit, I choose not to mention who it is here on this site. If you are curious as to who that might be you can email me privately.  To find out more on the band members click on Band's Bio.
Yeah yeah.... I am sure ya'll wondering where I am from and how I became an avid fan of TOFOG's.... I live here in sunny California, USA, and I have only recently become a fan back in June 2000. The first time that I have visited www.GRUNTLAND.com.au and downloaded "What's the difference" I was a little wary of how I should interpret  the music I was listening to. That song was actually released back in 1985 by Roman Antix (Russell Crowe and Dean Cochran). I was fairly impressed with the content of the lyrics and of the guitar licks within that song. Russell's raspy voice fit the melodies of each song and convinced me that not only is he an enigma in regards to his acting, but now he has drawn me into the soulful sounds of the music he and his band mates had been producing. I then proceeded in downloading through *gasp* Napster  as much as I could until I convinced myself that I had to get the album "Gaslight". I fell in love with the band's songs as quickly as I downloaded them, and have not stopped listening since.
This site is new and as you can imagine there is plenty to look through here, and as more information becomes available to me I will post it here so that I can keep you updated. Come have a look around and enjoy the site!!! Meet other fans from around the globe and chat about yours and my favorite raw alternative rock 'n roll band from Australia.
